CRACKERS

Just been to a gig at the above venue. Sound good, DJ OK, Friendly atmosphere - especially the lady at the cloakroom who greets you with a big smile! Security good plus an outside shelter for smoking. £5 to get in.
Bands that played on 10 April included Just Fuzz, The Alpha Method and The Guns. Very impressed with the first group performing - looked like something out of Led Zep - at least the lead guitarist did with his long locks. Crazy drummer and a cool bass. Lead singer was dynamic - powerful vocals and what energy! Leaping on and off the stage like a mad man swinging the microphone stand around the place. Haunting lyrics on the synth - distinctive sound, catchy rhythmn. Definitely a band to watch for the future - a powerful cocktail of Britpop and 70s rock - and did I hear a dash of Joy Division there? Track 'Be My Rose' has to be a classic - all the punters were spellbound.
Then we were entertained by Alpha Method - strobe lights and loud, loud, loud! Sorry, heard it all before - sounded like they'd stepped out of 80s punk - good though if you like that. Finally, The Guns. What can I say? Raucous, heavy, loud - but sadly nothing new. If I was looking for the next big sound I'd have to put my money on Just Fuzz - is it metal? is it rock? is it indie? No! just fuZZZZZ!
