Popular Wirral Indie-rock band Alexis Blue will be playing their largest headline gig to date at Liverpool Barfly in November. Held in the main area of the Barfly, the theatre, which boasts a large standing capacity of 500+.
Alexis Blue, an Indie 4-piece from Merseyside have been making a name for themselves over the past 16 months. With their debut single being released in July and selling out both in the UK and Japan almost immediatly, they have played many high profile headline sets around the country, including headlining Club NME Middlesbrough and tour support slots with The Wombats, Little Man Tate, Reverend And The Makers, Milburn and The Kooks.
The band now bring their fantastic live performance back to Liverpool to play their largest Liverpool headline gig yet. Having headlined the smaller room of Liverpool Barfly back in July they return to take their place as headliners of the main 500 capacity room, with what is sure to be a memorable set. With support picked by the band themself its going to be a fantastic night for the fans aswell as the lads in the band.
This band writes songs that you just can't get out of your head. I've not heard a debut single like this since the Stone Roses, perfect blend of guitar and vocals with vocal melodies Squire wishes he could still write. My tip for the top for 2007, this bands flying at the moment, don't miss check in!" - FHQ
"The music is great, the band are friendly, and most of all they are actually a great band from the Wirral. Watch out people of Merseyside and beyond, this is truly a band that is going places and you won't know what has hit you! Go out, see them live and tell your friends about Alexis Blue NOW!" - LOUD Magazine
"Alexis Blue are a four-piece from Wallasey in the North of England, who offer great pieces of indie-pop gem. Truly inspired by their folks of Merseyside (The Zutons, The Coral and co.) on some tracks, especially Swings and Roundabouts & You Won't Get Much Sleep with their indie-pop melody that will have you hooked. From song to song, listening to Alexis Blue is a breath of fresh air coming from across the Mersey. It's definitely a band to check out in the near future" - Melanie Lapierre, This Is Fake DIY/CISM 893 Radio, Canada
